What Event Planners Should Know About Appleton, Wisconsin

by Dec 27, 2017

This January, The Fox Cities, 19 communities that comprise the greater Appleton, Wisconsin area will open their first exhibition center. Nearly two decades in the making, The Fox Cities Exhibition Center will provide the area with a sizable upgrade for hosting meetings and events.

The Fox Cities Exhibition Center is located in downtown Appleton, attached to the Radisson Paper Valley Hotel via skywalk.  The center will be operated by the local hotel. The Radisson Paper Valley is also renovating its meeting, conference, and common space in anticipation for the opening of the exhibition center. This will provide groups with many options to plan their meetings and events.

What is the advantage of bringing your group to the Fox Cities? Well, Mayor Hanna loves to share that groups will experience “being in an urban setting and having all the amenities that Appleton has to offer” Like the safety and walkability of its downtown. The city is home to Fox Cities Performing Arts Center which is located across the street from the Radisson. Lawrence University also calls Fox Cities its home as its gorgeous campus is also located in downtown Appleton. Another location that is also getting a facelift is Jones Park. Jones Park is located right beside the Fox Cities Exhibition Center and will settle in with new landscaping, two ice rinks, and a permanent amphitheater. What a great outdoor space for groups to use as well!

With many unique shopping spots and inspiring artful performances, groups will be happy that they selected the Fox Cities. If you haven’t considered it and think this location might be a good fit for your program, contact the Fox Cities Convention & Visitors Bureau.

The Fox Cities Exhibition Center is set to open in January of 2018. The center already has events on the books and looking forward to getting more!
