It is really hard to believe that another year has past us by. For me, 2015 has been a whirlwind. Every time I was able to look up, it was another month, and another season. I have been able to experience really wonderful things in the past year, however haven’t had the opportunity to share them with you. Looking back on the past year, my biggest regret is not being able to blog as much as I wanted to. Unfortunately, time wasn’t on my side. There just wasn’t enough of it. Either that, or my priorities did not include many of my personal passions. It is my hope that 2016 brings more opportunities to share with you, and more personal passions for me to explore.
Sometimes you can be so “busy” that you aren’t able to see what is coming next. Usually “busy” is a good thing, as it denotes growth and opportunity, which it was in my case. However, sometimes “busy” means, you might need to think a little differently about how you work in order for you to create change. I can’t tell you the countless times that this has proven true for me as an event professional. Usually there are at least 3 different ways that a task can be completed, and if you take the opportunity to explore those different ways, you might open up some time and additional opportunities for yourself.
For me, although in a state of growth, I’ve had to come up different ways to approach my work so that I can create space for me. By doing this, I’ve been able to break free of the pressure of working around the clock, and am starting to see where I’m going again. I’ve been excited for my opportunities this year, and I’ve learned so much. However, in 2016 I’m looking forward to have my personal time back so that I can share my little “finds” of this industry with you.
Have you taken a look back and reflected on what this year was for you? If not, I would encourage you to do so, because it can be very humbling to really recall everything that you have accomplished. Many times, reflecting back helps to set the foundation of where you want to go into the future. I’m excited to share with you where I’m personally headed in the next coming days.
So happy that you have stuck with me through this year, even though the posts were few and far between. Looking forward to sharing more with you in the months to come! Cheers to 2015, And bring on 2016!
Yah!!!
I’m so happy to see your back!
I’m also excited to read more and learn more of what you are experiencing.
Happy New Year !!
